In an attempt to squeeze the market dry, Viz will be re-releasing a few of their longest-running manga titles, Dragonball, Dragonball Z, and Rurouni Kenshin in 3-volume long omnibus collections. I would insert a joke here about how Inuyasha may also see an omnibus release format if Rumiko Takahashi learns how to write an ending, but it’s not even funny anymore.

Update: This new Viz line has been dubbed “Viz Big” and will begin publishing Kenshin in January 2008, Dragonball and Dragonball Z in May 2008.

omnibus. o__o err. yeah, i thought about the short story first (The Celestial Omnibus, betch!) instead of the format, being unfamiliar with it. and then i wiki-ed it. lawd. ignorance! well. for its sake, at least one won't have to buy like 200134032858 volumes. just that... divided by three.

is that any better? i don't know.

rumiko takahashi was my favorite manga-ka when i started reading. :( sigh. (but then ranma 1/2's last volume was NEVER released and inu-yasha went haywire fancrazy and i sighed.)

I'll probably end up re-buying all of the Dragonball and DBZ manga >_>

Hopefully they'll be able to get the Kanzenban editions! That'd be cool O_O new cover artwork, color chapters and the new DBZ ending :O! But it'd all be ruined if Viz keeps the name "Veggerot" X_X
