After last month’s confiscation of 6,000 (banned) Death Note comics, the Chinese police are at it again. Reportedly, they have taken legal action against large web site (dofor.cn) that allegedly hosted videos based on the manga. This entire ordeal has created one of the largest movements of Chinese authorities against an entertainment output, stating Death Note comics “contain elements of mystery, death and revenge, and are harmful to children’s psychological development.”
I personally find this as yet another social failure, parents should be the people intervening in what children are subjected to, not police and government officials.
