Viz Media has announced that Cartoon Network in North America will begin airing the Blue Dragon anime this spring.
Shueisha’s Cobalt Books website has announced that the Hakushaku to Yousei (The Count and the Fairy) novels by Mizue Tani will be adapted into an anime. No further details have yet been released.
The official website for Gegege no Kitarō: Sennen Noroi Uta (The Thousand Year Curse Song) has posted a promotional trailer for the live action film. The movie is scheduled to premiere in Japanese theaters on July 12.
A new anime DVD distribution company, AnimeWho, has licensed the Futari no Joe OVA under the title Joe vs. Joe. The DVD is listed for an April 29 release.
Natsuko Takahashi (Gakuen Heaven) and Pink Hanamori (Pichi Pichi Pitch) are reviving Osamu Tezuka’s Ribbon no Kishi (Princess Knight) manga from the 1950’s under the title Sapphire: Ribbon no Kishi. This shoujo manga will begin serialization in the May issue of Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine.
The New York Comic Con announced it will premiere Code Geass and Lucky star during its April 18-20 convention. Code Geass is scheduled to begin airing on Adult Swim this spring.
The official website for the 2008 Detective Conan anime film, Meitantei Conan: Senritsu no Full Score (Detective Conan: Full Score of Fear), has posted three new promotional videos. The anime movie premieres in Japan on April 19.
The Nippon television network has announced a live action drama adaptation of the manga Osen by Shota Kikuchi, expected to begin airing in April.

Bandai Visual USA announced it will offer the first complete episode of the Haruka: Beyond the Stream of Time anime for free in late March for a limited time on its dot-anime.us website. The episode will be available to residents in the United States and Canada only. The company also plans to offer free episodes of True Tears, Shigofumi, and Sola.
A promotional video for the Mnemosyne - Mnemosyne no Musume-tachi anime has been posted on the series’ official website.
An anime adaptation of Fumi Yoshinaga’s Antique Bakery manga is currently in production and will begin airing on Fuji TV in July.
Anime News Network has reported that the Koihime Muso: Doki Otome Darake no Sangokushi Engi adult game from BaseSon will be adapted into a manga and television anime. Nobuaki Nakanishi (Mahoujin Guru Guru) has signed on to direct, with animation from Dogakobo. The manga will begin serialization in the Festival! Comic magazine by Dengeki G.
The April Dragon Magazine from Fujimi Shobo has announced the production of a new Slayers anime. No official title or future information was given.
A promotional wrapper released with volume 14 of Trigun Maximum by Yasuhiro Nightow has revealed a Trigun movie, titled Trigun the Movie, is in production and will hit Japanese theaters in 2009. The movie was first hinted at two years ago in an interview with Masao Maruyama.
Variety has revealed that Ernie Hudson has been cast for the live action Dragonball movie that is currently filming in Mexico. Hudson is best known for his roll as Winston Zeddmore in Ghostbusters. There is currently no casting confirmation, however many speculate Hudson will take the roll as Mr. Popo.
The Monthly Shounen Sirius manga magazine by Kodansha will begin serializing the manga adaptation of Yoshiki Tanaka’s Titania novels in their May issue (on sale March 26). An anime adaptation of Titania was announced at Anime Expo 2003, but this has yet to come to fruition.
Viz Pictures announced the first NANA and the Funky Forest live action films will receive theatrical screenings in the US. The NANA film will screen in the ImaginAsian Center in Los Angeles from March 21 to 27 and the ImaginAsian theatre in New York City April 4-10. The film’s DVD ships on April 8.
The live action anthology Funky Forest: The First Contact will be screened from March 7 to 13 at NYC’s ImaginAsian Theater, then at the Grand Illusion Cinema in Seattle March 21-27. Funky Forest will then air at the ImaginAsian Center in Los Angeles from April 18 to 24. The film’s DVD ships on March 18.
