  • Bleach DVD #6 Bleach DVD #6 is the beginning to one of the best story arcs in anime I have ever seen. Unlike most shounen anime, fights in the Bleach Soul Society arc are fast-paced, loaded with substance and never dull.

    Hikaru no Go DVD #10 This is a perfect example of an anime I've continuously put off to the side for later, and yet when i finally get aroudn to it I fall in love with the series and beat myself up for not viewing it earlier!

    Naruto the Movie DVD The latest mission for our favorite ninja team? Protect and escort a spoiled actress to her next film set. Oh, and keep her from running away of course!

    Ping Pong DVD Ping Pong is a great film that blew away all my expectations and completely changed my negative view towards live actions movies. The story of friendship development through competition is superb. This is a must-see.

Manglobe Studio, the animation production company behind Ergo Proxy, has announced it will begin working on a new project titled Michiko to Hatchin. The Michiko anime is expected to air in Japan later this year.

IGN is streaming the first dubbed episode of the Aquarion anime for free. FUNimation is scheduled to begin shipping the first DVD set (13 episodes) on March 11.

Anime.tv has posted another promotional trailer for the ToHeart2ad OVA.

A trailer for the 11th Pokemon movie, Diamond & Pearl: Giratina to Sora no Hanataba, has been posted on the Japanese Pokemon movie website.

Orcavision’s official Nabari no Ō anime website has opened and the company has posted a promotional video for the upcoming series.

Shinji Aramaki’s anime film Appleseed: Ex Machina will have midnight screenings this Friday and Saturday at the IFC Center in New York City. The movie will be in high definition with Japanese audio and English subtitles.

The Tokyo Ghost Trip manga from Hashiba Maki will be adapted into a live action television series, scheduled to begin airing in Japan in April.

The Independent Film Channel will begin airing the 2005 Speed Grapher anime series tomorrow, March 7, at 11pm EST.

The Tokyo International Anime Fair website announced that more information regarding Appleseed Genesis, the Appleseed anime television series will be revealed on March 30 at the convention. Appleseed Genesis was originally revealed in 2005 and had been planned for a 26-episode series in 2006, which did not come to fruition.

The Young Gangan magazine from Square Enix has announced that the Sekirei manga by Sakurako Gokurakuin will be adapted into an anime television series and will air this summer.

Right Stuf’s Nozomi Entertainment has announced their license of the Maria-sama ga Miteru (Maria Watches Over Us) anime for distribution in North America.

Mag Garden has announced that Nanae Chrono, creator of Peace Maker, and Kōshō Nakabayashi will begin a new manga called Paka Run in the May issue of the Comic Blade magazine (on sale March 29).

The official Kimikiss anime website has posted a new promotional video for the last three episodes of Kimikiss, which air this month.

ComingSoon.net has reported that the Dragonball live action film from Fox has been pushed back to an April 3, 2009 opening. The film was previously set to release in theaters on August 15 of this year along with the fully CG Star Wars: The Clone Wars, The International, Tropic Thunder, and Wild Child.

Shortly after the announcement of the Titania manga adaptation, Hiroaki Adachi, an agent of Yoshiki Tanaka, revealed that Tanaka’s Titania novels will also be adapted into an anime.

Shueisha announced that co-creator of Spider-Man and X-Men Stan Lee will team up with the creator of Shaman King, Hiroyuki Takei to begin a new manga serializing in Jump Square Second on April 18. Further information has yet to be released.

Kadokawa Shoten has revealed that the April issue of the Japanese Newtype magazine will announce a Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann anime movie. New animation is expected and some confusion is to be cleared up, however it is not known if the storyline will be a recap of the series.

A new live action television drama adaptation of Yoko Kamio’s Hana Yori Dango is in production and will be airing in South Korea. Hana Yori Dango has previously been adapted into two live action dramas, a live action movie, anime, and anime movie.

MediaWorks’ Dengeki website has posted a promotional video compilation for the Shina Dark DVD. This anime music DVD will be released March 21 in Japan as an extra with the third volume of the Shina Dark manga by Bujuro Nakayama and Yukari Higa.

The Bokurano manga creator Mohiro Kitoh will be drawing Kare no Satsujin Keikaku (His Murder Scheme), a one-shot manga for the May issue of Jump Square. The issue goes on sale April 4 in Japan.
