English voice of Uzumaki Naruto, Maile Flanagan has been announced as a special guest for the March 28-30, 2008 Naruto Trek convention. The Naruto and Star Trek crossove convention will in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at the Sheraton Suites Cypress Creek Hotel. In addition, Studio Pierrot is expected to unveil authorized American Naruto costume at the event.
Publisher Digital Manga is holding weekly sweepstakes giveaways for its Club Otakie mail-order catalog subscribers; prizes include gift cards, iPod shuffles, and Nintendo DS Lite and game bundles.
ICv2 reported that Ward Thomas, COO of FUNimation, and VP of Marketing Debra Kennedy have left the anime company.

Bandai Entertainment has posted a video preview from the English Haruhi Suzumiya episode 12 concert scene in promotion of the final DVD release on November 6.
To promote the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion series and its much anticipated sequel, Bandai Visual has announced it will release two “DVD Magazines” on December 21, 2007 and January 25, 2008 in Japan. The first volume is expected to contain a promotional trailer for the Code Geass seequel, a Code Geass glossary, character quote collection, two new audio recordings from the cast, and a selection of Code Geass: Diary of the Rebellion net-radio broadcast videos.
Animate TV has begun streaming the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai anime series online after multiple Japanese television networks preempted or cancelled the anime due to juvenile violence. Each episode will be hosted on the website for one week.
The first production still image from the upcoming live action film Blood: The Last Vampire has been posted online here. The film is being directed by Chris Nahon, with Korean actress Ji-Hyun starring as Saya.
The cancelled Comic BonBon manga magazine from Kodansha announced that the Negima!? Neo manga will continue serialization January 2008 in the new Magazine Special manga magazine. The graphic novel releases will not be delayed.
The Umi no Tairiku NOA + manga will continue distribution on the MiChao! manga website after the Comic BonBon manga magazine ends its publication in November.
The Theater and Performance Studies program at Georgetown University will host Natsu Onoda’s theatrical adaptation of three short manga by Osamu Tezuka. The production will be at the Washington, D.C. school’s Davis Performing Arts Center and run from November 8-17, 2007.

Inoue Mao has been confirmed in the cast of the new live action drama adaptation of the 1949 Anmitsu Hime (Sugar Princess) manga by Shosuke Kurakane. The TV special is scheduled to air in January 2008 on the Fuji TV network in Japan.
Takashi Okazaki has confirmed a second Afro Samurai anime series is now in production and is expected to air on North America’s Spike TV network in the spring of 2008. The new series will continue from and elaborate the original series’ ending.
The Japanese website for the upcoming Yatterman anime re-make series has posted a promotional trailer. The new anime is scheduled to air in Japan beginning January 14, 2008.
An official website for the anime adaptation of Shinobu Takayama’s Amatsuki fantasy manga has opened, confirming the new television series.
