ANN reports that six of Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries employees were caught and reprimanded for updating Gundam articles on Wikipedia. Ministry offcial Tsutomu Shimomura publicly stated that “the agriculture ministry is not in charge of Gundam,” in case anyone had thought otherwise. Japan’s government has began to restrict access to Wikipedia from ministry internet connections.

Bandai Namco announced the closed beta test for the upcoming Gundam Tactics Online PC game, based on the popular Gundam series. Applications will be accepted at the game’s official website from October 1 to October 14 and is currently unknown if this beta test will be limited to Japan or Asia-only, as many testing periods are. The game is expected to be released to the public late this winter.

A new Gundam vs. Gundam fighting game is due out in march of 2008 from Bandai Namco’s Banpresto subsidiary. The arcade game will feature mecha designs from over 15 of the Gundam titles.
