The official website for the Genshiken Doujin Convention has opened. The Genshiken event commences on May 5th, 2008 at the Tokyo Industry Trade Center; it is expected to be limited to 60 doujin groups.

Animate.tv reports that a web radio program for the Genshiken 2 anime will begin a weekly streaming schedule tomorrow, October 9, anchored by Hiyama Nobuyuki (Madarame) and Mizuhashi Kaori (Ogiue). The program, entitled Genchoken Otaku na Radio will include philosophical discussions of the otaku lifestyle. The new Genshiken anime premieres October 9, with new episodes every Tuesday.

The Famitsu website is featuring screen shots and information on the second season for the Genshiken anime. Notable staff changes include a new director: Yoshimoto Kinji (Plastic Little) and character designs by Yanagida Yoshiaki (Kujibiki Unbalance TV). A new opening will be performed by Misato Aki (My-HiME) and a new ending by Yuumao. Season 2 of Genshiken is scheduled to premiere this October.

A new Genshiken spin-off series has been announced; the fictional game portrayed in the original Genshiken series, Ramen Tenshi Pretty Menma, will be the center of this new manga. It will be published in the Monthly Comic Alive magazine, debuting in the November issue.

Rumors have been flying in regards to a Genshiken-only doujin convention scheduled to commence on May 5, 2008 at the Taitou Kumin Kaikan building in Asakusa.
The Genshiken second season trailer that was shown at Comiket 72 has been leaked to the wonderful lands of YouTube.
The Aquarion homepage has a streaming trailer of the movie, which is scheduled to debut in Japanese theaters on September 22nd.
A trailer of the short film Kafka Inaka Isha (Franz Kafka The Country Doctor) is currently being hosted by the Shochiku Films website.
A new trailer for the upcoming (October) anime Sketchbook ~full color’S~ is up on the series’ website.
