In a recent interview with Detective Conan (Cased Cloesd) manga author Gōshō Aoyama, the ending plot for the long running series has already been planned and would be ready to begin production, but not for a while. No more details were given by Aoyama, but he did say he “will not betray the hopes of fans.” Detective Conan is one of the longest running series to date, with the manga premiering in 1994 and Volume 59 releasing in Japan this month. The series has reportedly sold over 120 million volumes in Japan alone.

A sequel to the extremely popular live action Detective Conan TV drama is now in production. The new special will be titled Kudo Shinichi no Fukkatsu! Kuro no Soshiki to no Taiketsu. Tomoka Kurokawa and Takanori Jinnai will both reprise their Ran and Kogoro Mori casting.
